Vogue-September issue 2010

As I browse through the September issue of vogue I am amazed as always all 726 pages of it are absolutely to die for. The Lancome ad on the back cover is exquisite and makes me so excited to start putting my Fall makeup to use. The ad is for the Lancome Fall 2010 Color Collection by Aaron De May. And the picture is so chic it kills me.
There is also a Tear Out Beauty Calendar (right after Page 578) with a couple of products that I am definitely interested in trying and a couple of ideas I will share with you. The new Neutrogena healthy defense liquid moisturizer spf 50 is said to be a lightweight moisturizer that glides on smoothly and block out UVB burning rays and UVA aging rays from the sun. I am a big believer in SPF and think everyone should wear an SPF of at least 15 everyday.

Nexxus products seem to be really all over the place lately. I am definitely in the market for a new shampoo. And after seeing it in Vogue and doing some research I must try Nexxus Therrape luxurious hydrating shampoo. I'm planning a trip to Miami and I know I am going to be in the sun and water which will definitely dry my hair out and will put me in need of a good moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. And I also use an SPF for my hair when I know I am going to the beach or will be in direct sunlight. My fave of the moment is Oscar Blandi Capri Sun -Shield spray SPF 20.

It also featured the tester page for the new Gucci Guilty perfume which smells AHHHH-MAAZZINNNG ! I must own it !

Also made me want to try Revlon Grow Luscious mascara which is said to strengthen and condition lashes with each use. If you read my blog you know I have a mascara addiction. Which cannot be cured ! So I like to try everything from lash serums, primers, fiber lashes, all different types of mascara and the occasional false lash application for nights when I really want my look to stand out. But I have stood by using my rapid lash every other night and a little beauty secret of applying castor oil to my lashes before sleep on the other nights and my lashes have become very strong and thick like never before so thank you RapidLash !! And as far as Lash Primers go I am a huge fan of the Lancome Oscillation Power booster it is a vibrating amplifying primer and it really coats every lash and prepares it for your mascara. I think it is worth it to go the extra mile with it because it really enhances the look of your lashes.

Obviously tons of gorgeous fashion ads but if I had to pick my favorite ad that stands out to me would be the Alberta Ferretti ad the chunky necklace and gorgeous shoes on the models caught my eyes and made me drool over the magazine. The Hermes ad is also beautiful. And of course the Chanel ad looks so vintage chic I could cry.

And I am saving the best for last THE COVER Halle Berry sporting Anna WIntour's Signature haircut. She looks absolutely amazing (not shocking because she always does !) but the jewelry and subtle makeup on her is to die.

Ok everyone I'm going to get back to reading it because it is 726 amazing pages of glory.....

Pick up a copy you will not be disappointed ....OBVIOUSLY !

Mario Badescu Reviews

I recently went on a bit of a Mario Badescu spree and I am quite thrilled to report back all positive reviews on the products I tried I am a huge fan of Mario Badescu drying lotion in the glass bottle ( it is to die) it literally heals my unwanted usually hormonal blemishes which usually come at the worst possible time ! It dries them out pretty quickly when compared to other products. So being as though I was under the weather I took to my computer and ordered some more products. I didn't expect to be disappointed and I sure wasn't, actually I am thrilled with everything.

Heres the deets :

Mario Badescu Buttermilk Moisturizer - $18.00

A rich & creamy moisturizer, Buttermilk Moisturiser gives
the skin hydration without clogging it up (exactly what I need especially because of my oily t-zone). The product absorbs into the skin really well and is very gentle. While I was a little hesitant about using a bright blue moisturiser, I realized the benefits upon application and changed my mind. I have been using it for a week and feel it has changed my skins texture for the better. Plus since I was sick I developed some dry spots which I normally don't have and this seemed to balance everything out. 2 Very en
thusiastic thumbs up !!!

Mario Badescu Cleansing Milk with Carnation and Rice Oil $20.00 16 oz

Although this cleanser is aimed for normal to oily skins, I found it was still soothing and creamy. It made my skin feel refreshed and smelled fab ! I think it is a great summer time cleansing milk but I will need to swicth back to something a bit more mild in the winter months. But feels great especially after being in the sun or running around. Really feels like it gives your skin a good deep clean !

Mario Badescu Silver Face Powder : $12.00

This mask helps lift and remove blackheads from the surface of your skin giving you the appearance of smaller pores and toned skin. This is Heaven sent. Made my skin shine in all its glory ! Will need to use this at least twice a week to keep oils and shine at bay !

Overall I am highly impressed with Mario Badescu Products and would recommend trying some of the products to all of my readers ! And the prices are reasonable which makes it even more amazing !

I am on a mascara BINGE !

I walked into Sephora today and spent a solid hour just looking at the mascara. Mascara is my true weakness. I can not pass up mascara when I see it. Whether it be at the drugstore or Sephora I am always on the lookout for mascara.....what are some of your faves ?? I will have my comparison with some pics up soon ! I bought Fiberwig mascara, and Makeup Forever smokey eye and the oscillation primer by Lancome which I can not wait to put under all my mascara !!!

3 mascara purchases is what happens when a girl with a problem walks into Sephora or as I like to call it the "Mothership" hahaha :)

I tried out an amazing at home face mask today that my friend told me about and before I reported it back to you guys I wanted to make sure it worked well and OHHH BOYYY did heres what you need it's so simple and really left my skin bright and glowing !! Just what I wanted !!!!

2 Asprin (yes they come in handy even if you don't have a headache!)
3 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons baking soda
1 bowl
1 spoon
cotton balls/rounds

So what I did was put the 2 asprin in the 3 tablespoons of lemon juice in a bowl and let it sit for about 5 mins then with a spoon I mixed it around until the asprin dissolved but left behind a gritty texture. Then you just spread the solution all over the face. (Avoid eye area) it may tingle a little. If it becomes too much rinse it off. (I don't recommend this for people with sensitive skin)
Let it sit for 5 minutes
Rinse the bowl out during this time

So when your 5 mins is up, put the baking soda in the bowl and add enough water to make it very watered down. Then take the cotton balls and dip them in the solution and put directly on your face. Repeat until the solution is off of your face.

Now rinse your face with tepid water and gently pat dry.

Your skin will look great.

The Asprin has anti-inflammatory properties and the lemon exfoliates the dead surface cells and by using the baking soda and water to remove it brings your skin back to its normal PH level.

As an esthetician this is something I highly recommend doing. It is great for your skin !
