My pick for fave eye cream !

Not all skin is created equal. For example, the skin of the soles is thick and hard, the skin of the scalp has embedded hair follicles, and the skin of the nose and cheeks tends to have particularly active sebaceous glands. The skin around the eye has its own special traits:
- It has virtually no sebacious glands, which makes it highly prone to dryness.
- It is much thinner and more sensitive than other facial skin.
- It overlies a particularly dense capillary network and has minimal fat padding, which makes the eye area prone to puffiness.
- It is stressed by frequent eye movements and squinting.
All of the above often makes the eye area the first place where signs of aging appear on the face. Most of us want to look some years younger than our chronological age. If you look at faces of twenty five and thirty five year old people, you will notice that the main difference is usually in the eye area: thirty five year olds will be a lot more likely to have fine lines and bags under the eyes; some will even have crow's feet. Not surprisingly, when we try to estimate someone's age, the appearance of eye area is always one of the key factors. Therefore, if you want to keep looking young as long as possible, it may be insufficient to take care of your skin in general. You need to neutralize a natural tendency of the skin in the eye area to age faster than the rest of your face.
My absolute favorite eye cream right now is the "Wrinkle Revenge" eye cream by DermaDoctor it is fragrance free and is safe for use on eyelids and leaves skin around my eyes plump and doesn't make my eyes red like some eye creams do....it's my top pick in eye creams !!!

Where to $ave and where to $plurge !
Sunday, July 4, 2010
There are some areas you NEED to splurge on to look good and put together but there are some things you can skimp on and still get great results. Use these tips to help yourself figure out what’s worth spending big bucks on and what you can save on to get the same results.
Eye Makeup: Save Your Money On Eyeliner, Spend Your Money On Eye Shadow
Since most of today’s eyeliner pencils are made from nothing but colored wax, it’s not necessary for you to spend $20 on eyeliner from the department store when you can get the same thing for under $5 at your local drugstore. If you prefer liquid eyeliner, you can too get a cheap and effective version anywhere. However, when it comes to eye shadow it’s best to spend a little bit more. Quality means quantity with eyeshadow. A more expensive shadow will likely stay on longer and not fade quickly. In addition, most expensive brands offer richer colors. If you still don’t want to buy expensive eye shadow, here’s a quick tip! Simply splurge on a small tube of M.A.C. Paints (which is an eyeshadow primer) and use the cheap eyeshadow over it. It will help it stay in place for hours and hours and you’ll not need to spend a fortune!
Face Skin Care: Save On Cleansers AND Moisturizers
Sometimes you think to get younger looking skin or clearer skin, you need to buy only the best and most expensive cosmetics brands of cleansers and moisturizers. However, there is no reason to spend a fortune on a great moisturizer or a good cream cleanser. Most dermatologists agree you can get great results with drug store brands. Basically, the job of a cleanser is to remove excess oil and dirt and drugstore brands like Cetaphil and Purpose Gentle can do just that, very effectively. There is no need for the extra ingredients to get the job done! The thing to remember with moisturizers is you’ll need two (one for your body and one for your face). Your face might need an oily formula while you may have dry body skin. There’s no need to spend a bundle on these so you can avoid buying designer brands of lotion. You can get great lotions for both the face and body by trusted brands like Olay at your drugstore retailer.
Hair Care: Save On Shampoo And Condition, Spend Your Cash On Blowdryers And Appliances
Your salon professional might not want you to know this, but there is no reason you need to spend loads of cash on shampoo and conditioner. There are plenty of drugstore brands that can get the job done just as well as the fancy salon finds. In fact, you may even get better results with the wholesale priced drugstore finds. Since brands like Loreal and Pantene sell in bulk and in great quantities to drugstores, they have the means to put billions of dollars into product research and development. So, you might actually be getting higher quality at a much lower price. However, when it comes to blowdryers you may want to splurge a bit. The new ionic dryers can help you not only cut down on your drying time but also cut down on the heat exposure. You can find the best dryers online, at your salon or at your nearby beauty supply outlet.
Miscellaneous Beauty Product Savings: Save On Shaving, Spend On Nails
When it comes to shaving and hair removal, you can certainly save a lot of money by doing it yourself. Sure, it may be quite a pain in the neck but the money you save will let you get a massage to ease the pain! If you hate to shave and prefer waxing, think about using a hair removal cream on your legs and other areas instead. This is a pain-free method you can do yourself at home and the results are fantastic! As far as nails go, save your cash by doing your own at-home manicure and pedicure. However, if you like fake nails be sure to only let professionals do that task. Otherwise you’ll end up loosing press on nails left and right.
Homeade beauty "Recipes"

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon honey; 1 egg yolk; 1 teaspoon olive oil
This is something I have done done to make skin smoother. Also helps with minor breakouts because of honeys natural antiseptic properties
How to prepare:
Beat the egg yolk with a fork, add the oil and blend well. Add the honey using a spoon that you have rinsed with hot water and blend well again.
How to use:
Smear it all over your face with your fingers, except over your eyes. Leave it on your face for 15 minutes, then rinse it off.
Results :
I applied it at night for 15 minutes. When I removed it my skin felt smoother. In the morning when I woke up, my pimples looked minimized and my skin still remained soft and looked and felt more balanced. I did it every other night for about 2 Weeks and my skin looked fab !
And one of my all time FAVE natural beauty tips is APPLE CIDER VINEGAR its great to drink (MIXED WITH WATER) to detoxify from the inside and you can put it on a cotton ball after cleansing face to clear out pores and can be used as a toner. DISCLAIMER: you may not want to use it on your skin everyday because it can dry it out. But it has done wonders with my skin. I use it once a week.
A GREAT at home exfoliator :
Combine a little over 2 teaspoon of oatmeal and 1 teaspoon baking soda and enough water to make it into a paste. Apply to skin and rub gently. Let sit for 10 mins....RELAX (ahhh breath in breath out !) Then rinse and enjoy soft supple skin !
Hope you enjoy some of my at home recipes that I personally use ! Give them a shot ! You won't be disappointed, Plus it's sooo much fun playing spa at home !
