Do it Yourself Beauty Fixes

The next time you have a beauty problem and need a trip to the spa and either don't have the time or money, head to your kitchen instead. Chances are it’s has all the necessities you need to make many problem-solving beauty and skin-care treatments, etc All you need is time and patience and a handful of common ingredients found in your fridge or pantry. You may never look at your fridge or pantry the same way again!

Avocado Hair Mask

What You Will Need:

Half of a ripe peeled avocado, one egg and two tablespoons of wheat germ oil. (You can also substitute wheat germ oil for olive or castor oil.)

In a small bowl, mash the avocado until it's smooth. Then add the egg and oil and blend well.

Massage the mixture to dry hair, starting from the ends up. Once you've applied it all, cover your head with a shower cap or small plastic bag, grab a book and set the timer for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and shampoo out.

PS. I also use pure avocado on my face when it gets dry, works wonders !

Tea Hair Treatment

What You Will Need:

2 tea bags (chamomile, a golden mix for blondes; rooibos, a rich orange for redheads; or black tea, dark for brunettes)
2 cups water

1. Once a week -- or whenever you feel you could use a shinier locks. Steep tea bags in boiling water for 10 minutes. Let the liquid cool to room temperature. Be very careful. Stir through mixture and place hand in it to make sure it has completely cooled to a comfortable temperature .

2. Pour the mixture over wet, just washed hair, rubbing it in , in the same way you would shampoo.

3. Leave the rinse on for 10 minutes; wash and condition to seal it in.


Tea lowers the pH of hair, closing the cuticle for extra shine, softness, and manageability. Keeping the PH of your hair lower will keep your hair shinier !

Treat Your Feet

What You Will Need :

2 tablespoons cornmeal

1 tablespoon mashed banana

1. Stir cornmeal and banana together until evenly blended. The mixture should have a similar consistency of wet sand.

2. Massage the paste all over feet, working into rough spots until skin feels smooth, or you can leave it on with plain white cotton socks that you do not mind discarding afterward. Your feet will look brand new !

  2. Well, useful article. Avocado oil can help you to keep looking younger as you grow chronologically older. It also contains vitamin D that is so important in many of the biological processes within your hair - it is not called the sunshine vitamin for nothing.
